Replacing Run Flat Tires - Here's Your Answer
Views: 10077 Report
There are lots of questions surrounding replacing run flat tires. I have run flat tires on my BMW and have had lots of problems with them. The question of replacing run flat tires is a tricky one. First, do you need to replace all tires or just the one damaged. Second, do they wear out faster. Third, how can you replace them cheaply.

101852 (7/12): I have had to replace all 4 twice in 27,000 miles on my 330xi $25000 for a flat. Been stranded twice in Montana BMW has not helped get me home. I want to see if others are experiencing the same problems. I think I am going to start a class action Lawsuit against them. (report)
Anonymous (9/4): 9/4/08: 2007 BMW 335i I dropped off my car for it's first service today, I was told that I need to purchase 4 new tires due to a vibration I noticed while driving. My car is Leased and only has 15,000 miles. I will call the Service Manager, but not confident anything will get done. Seems to me that a class action lawsuit needs to take place if not resolved. (report)
RVT (10/7): I have had my BMW 335xi for 9 months and have had to have 3 run flats replaced!! They suck! I'm in for the class action lawsuit. (report)
Anonymous (1/3): Class action is warranted; sad, but true!!! 25,000 miles and time to replace...and I seem to be one of the lucky ones. BMW and the dealer sure have been quiet about the cost, performance and durability of the run flats, not to mention the lack of choice! Class action lawsuit! (report)
Anonymous (1/17): 23,000 miles 535xi. unacceptable noise and vibration. BMW lubricated bushings and told me I need four new run flats. $2,000 with alignment :-((( I am going to get real tires - fortunately the car came with a spare. Told me this mileage was normal - right. I will never buy run flats again. (report)
wefeko (2/18): I have 18,000 miles and thought it might be time to rotate the tires. I was told I need to replace all four run flats for a thousand $ and that they will not warranty the new ones for better mileage. Maybe the new ones won't be as noisy, though no guarantee. (report)
WhAtDaHeck (3/10): I have had to replace these tires twice a cost of 280 dollars it's a crime no shop wants to give me road hazard and when puncture and fixed and i still loose air, it's a no win situation and not to mention they wear out at 10 to 15 K. Yeah it's safe but the cost adds up. Please somebody do something about this. P.S. I've just replaced my run flats with regular on my 2006 325i I'll keep you posted.(report) (report)
Anonymous (4/1): 2006 s mini conv.font tires are gone with only 11,000 miles..Replaced with regular tires..What a difference (report)
